Give your hotel a fresh look this spring

Published - 29 Mar 2016
If you're a hotel, guest house or spa owner looking to freshen up your business, give your rooms a make-over this spring. There are number of hot, new trends in interior design to bear in mind, and most of them have travelled from the catwalk.

Welcome to the jungle
Jungle prints, exotic palms, and animals prints are going to be big this year, and expect there to be an injection of psychedelic colours. Rattan is making a come-back, as is bamboo both inside and outside the home. With the upcoming Rio Olympic Games, a Brazilian rainforest feel will be a huge trend.

Sophisticated monochrome
A number of top fashion designers like Dior and Valentino returned to black and white themes in the autumn and winter, and that's transferring into the world of interiors. It's a timeless look which will last a number of seasons.

Back to the 1970s
Think Bianca Jagger in her white tuxedo suit - it's all about the luxury side of the decade. Bacharach amrchair by Jonathan Adler are taking inspiration from the 1970s to design retro-feeling furniture and accessories. Get the look using velvet furniture and feathers.
Nautical but nice
Forget prints of anchors and other obvious nautical motifs. This is all about the freshness of blue and white stripes, great linens, and the use of reclaimed wood - no need to collect shells or driftwood from the beach.
The last word in interiors

Typography is another big trend for 2016, whether it's printed on walls, linens, blinds or curtains, or in wall art. The use of over-sized lettering as statement sculpture is on-trend this year.
