At Sliding Wardrobes World, we've enjoyed five years of success as a first class supplier of stylish fitted wardrobes, and more recently we've developed a range of top quality bespoke bedroom furniture too. We're always looking ahead for new ways to make our customers happy and meet the challenges of each fresh design project, but we remember our origins too. Here is a brief story of how we started out as a company, and what drove us to create our vision of excellence.
The way things were
The company was founded on 11the June 2010 by Arkadiusz Gmitruk & Norbert Sowa. At that time, we were aware of a lack of innovation in the wardrobe fitting services of our competitors. Back then, even bespoke wardrobes tended to rely on the same few materials and designs, which meant that clients' options were severely restricted. It was shame to see sliding wardrobe design left to stagnate, especially considering what a dominant - not to mention essential - feature a wardrobe is in a home. It seemed that it was high time for a fresh approach. We wanted to bring some new life into the industry, and felt that customers would respond to our passion for creating furniture that really belonged in peoples' homes. So we took the opportunity to open a small shop at 16 York Road, Eddington, Birmingham - little knowing what lay ahead.
A made to measure plan of action
A famous quote from John Lennon that inspired our company vision states that: 'There are no problems, only solutions.' That was our starting point as a company, and it has underpinned the way we do business with our clients ever since. We knew that we had to create better storage solutions for our customers, and devised ways of fitting sliding door wardrobes that coped with any design limitations or specifications they had. There have certainly been plenty of interesting challenges along the way, but we pride ourselves on our 'can-do' attitude and ability to adapt. It was this ethos that made us stand out amongst our competitors, even in the early days. In our quest for first-class services we made use of CAD design techniques to make the most of our bespoke services, as well as focusing on the basics of punctuality and quality fitting when it came to each project. It was important to us to make sure that we got things right every time.
Looking at our completed projects over the years, it's easy to see how we began to stand out as a quality company with an eye for innovative, made-to-measure designs. We always look towards new, great materials for our products, and pride ourselves on being able to facilitate whatever design specifications our customers might desire. Becoming an authorised Komandor dealer meant we could offer exclusive designs with the latest trouble-free sliding door systems. The quality of our designs is recognised across the UK, and Kamandor stands as one of the most respected wardrobe brands in the world, so perhaps it's hardly surprising that Sliding Wardrobes World began to make a name for itself as a top supplier of style.

Whether we employ warm wood pattens or stylish glass features in our designs, we always make sure that our furniture feels like a real part of the home it inhabits. Tailored features, such as specific storage drawers for ties and socks, and different combinations of racks and shelving, further emphasise our focus on the client's needs. Basically, whatever a person might need in their storage requirements, we aim to supply - working around the natural features of the customer's home to maximise the efficiency and aesthetics of each individual piece of furniture.

Our success in supplying these needs made it possible to take on more work and develop our team over the years, which in turn meant we were capable of dealing with more complex and demanding projects, while still delivering our hallmark quality and vision to each customer. With our business going from strength to strength, it wasn't long before we were looking for ways to further expand and develop our range. This meant looking for a larger shop, and thinking about how we could facilitate even more options for our customers.

In July 2013, our company moved premises to 34 High Street, Sutton Coldfield. This not only gave us a more prominent location to connect with customers, but also more space to develop our range. The new showroom includes new door finishes and sliding wardrobe systems, and it also allowed us to showcase a range of bespoke bedroom furniture options. This means we now offer not only great storage systems for wardrobes, but also beds with storage, headboards, bedside tables, dressers and office furniture - so it's easier than ever for our customers to match features and make use of our one-stop shop.
Our bond with customers
Our business starts and ends with the idea of making our customers happy. The most satisfying part of the Sliding Wardrobe World story is the relationships we've built with our many clients over the years. We're proud to see the way people return to us over time for their sliding wardrobes and furniture. Reading our testimonials, it's easy to see why people still look to us for help. Our drive to bring new life and quality into the industry is just as true today as it was five years ago, and we will be proud to continue providing customers with the best possible service in the years ahead.
So there you have it - from our small shop on York Road we've expanded our operation, and developed the brand that people love today. If you're thinking of adding style and value to your home with some quality fitted wardrobes, get in touch with us, and let us know your vision for your home. With a wide range of options to choose from and our flexible approach to complex projects, you're guaranteed to find the assistance you need from our friendly and welcoming specialists.
